Skiing in Pyrenees

For students, check the end of the article. This article concerns easy ways to go skiing in winter if you don’t have a car. There are multiple options through which ski trips can be booked to Pyrenees from Toulouse,

  • Skizy
  • Skigo
  • Skirail
  • *Links are not posted as they might change based on the year

    General itinerary :

  • Book your Formule journee for the preferred date (pay preferably with visa premier card which should cover insurance for everything) [Select the departure point based on your convenience]
  • Either book the ski/snowboard equipment online or compare & select a station closer to the ski station to rent once you get down the bus (watch out for discount of renting equipment in the partner rental shops of the website).
  • The ski pass will be distributed either during the bus journey or after reaching the parking place of the station, then collect the equipment from the ski rental shop and ski
  • There’ll be an option to hire a tutor depending on the resort chosen. Should check on their website and is recommended for groups as it’ll be costly when you hire individually.
  • Better to return the ski equipment around 15h45 and return to the parking spot by 16h15 as most buses leave by 16h30.
  • Items strongly recommended to carry

  • Waterproof gloves (Around 7 euros in Decathlon and other sports shops)
  • Waterproof thick jacket
  • Sunscreen lotion of SPF 50 (important irrespective of your skin color)
  • Lunch box
  • Chocolate/cereal bars
  • Mutuelle and visa (If there's no mutuelle, it’s recommended to get one before going)
  • Items recommended to carry

  • Waterproof pant (Make sure you can wear thermals in the initial ski visits, it's fine with normal jeans at the beginning as few did the same for first 3 sessions & bought once was sure of continuing)
  • Helmet (because of the concerns from recent news)
  • Ski goggles
  • Skiing for students

University Paul Sabatier takes students of Toulouse colleges for ski trips every saturdays of winter (except school holidays) at a cheap price where they.

  • arrange transportation
  • rent the ski equipments
  • teach skiing
  • Cost varies every year, so better to check with them. (SCUPAS - https://goo.gl/maps/CbEGR7ULk2jhBv7Y7). If you aren’t a student of Paul Sabatier University, you’ll have to subscribe for their yearly sports membership (an additional cost) and will need a medical certificate to prove you are fit (should get the form from them).

Opinion: This is the cheapest way to learn skiing/snowboarding from Toulouse and Subscribe for Saturday’s trip on or before Wednesday

  • Go and collect the ski equipments on Thursday evening (ask for directions to the collection point at the office)
  • Be at the rugby field of University Paul Sabatier on Saturday morning
  • First they’ll take you to a room where you can keep your bags (make sure you don’t carry valuables in it) [easy to learn ski/snowboard without a bag]
  • All the items recommended above hold true for this as well
  • You return to the bus with the equipment, return to college and give back the equipment there.
