General Tips

There are flights to Toulouse by Air France, Air India, Lufthansa, KLM with one layover. You can also find other airlines like Emirates, Qatar Airways, Etihad Airways, Oman Airways, Turkish etc who have flights to Toulouse with multiple layovers.

Avoid British Airways as we cannot transit with long-stay student visa after Brexit.

Points for consideration while booking flight

• Some airlines provide additional check in baggage to students (Example Air France). So while booking the flight tickets, call the customer service and mention your status as 'Student'
• Your arrival in Toulouse should match with the start date of your accommodation contract or collection of keys from the owner/company.
• Arrive in France a few days before the end of a month. It has got something to do with CAF (housing benefits given by the government for students)
• Maintain enough transit time (at least 90-120 mins in big airports like Paris, Frankfurt, Rome, Dubai etc)
• Possibility of adding an additional bag for lower cost

Extra Baggage

There are two ways to carry more baggage from India:

• Buy Extra baggage with your airlines, check this before booking your tickets some airlines charge you a ton for it.
• You can alternatively send your bag (without any liquids or sharp items) using the India post parcel, if you send it 4-5 days before departure, it will be with you between 1-5 days of your arrival. India Post has the cheapest rates compared to other private services and they don’t charge extra customs duty in France if you use India Post. The rate may vary from Rs300-350 per kg
